TUFC has issued the following statement:
"Tasmania United Football Club (TUFC) Inc notes with concern the recent coverage of management issues within Football Federation Tasmania (FFT).
TUFC would like to confirm that the current work being done to gain the
entry of a Tasmanian team in the A-league is progressing well and remains on track with the business case already commenced. The prospect of a Tasmanian based A-league club has captured the imagination of Tasmanians and this push is unaffected by any issues currently being faced by the FFT.
The TUFC want to work closely with the FFT into the future to ensure that all levels of our game can grow and develop. Strong administration and development of the "world game" in Tasmania will be important when Tasmania gains entry into the nation's elite football league.
There is already a very strong football support base in Tasmania. This state has among the highest levels of participation in football (soccer) in the nation.
Tasmania also has a strong football history and people who care passionately about the game. These factors mean that the future for our game at all levels looks bright and TUFC is confident that the issues currently faced by FFT will not halt the game's development towards this future."
