Congrats to the Tasmanian Youth team who defeated Queensland Roar's Youth League side 1-0 at North Hobart Oval yesterday! I find that people from other states have many pre-conceived notions about Tassie, one of them being that we wouldn't be competitive on the field... I think it demonstrates that Tasmania can be just as competitive as any of the existing teams! I have heard that either ACT or Tasmania will be selected to join the National Youth League from 2009-10 - this would be a fantastic opportunity for the state!

Great effort from the boys. Having a competitive youth side only adds to the strength of our bid.

We need to show the FFA that there is a large level of support for our A-League bid. A good way to do this is to turn out in numbers for the Youth League matches. We're playing Melbourne this Saturday (the 29th) - everyone who can should get out there!

Fantastic news! Roar didn't sound like they'd be a push over in the lead-up. Is the Melbourne game in the North or South?

The Melbourne game is in the south (North Hobart Oval). Unfortunately rain is scheduled for Saturday at the moment, same as the Qld game. It doesn't help that most of the stands have no shelter either. :(

Well who would of thought it , Tassie gets the oppertunity to play four games against the u/21s from four A-league teams. Everyone wondered will we be competitive or will we get a flogging. That question and many like it can now be answered.

Tonight saw the final game played  and Tassie have come away with one loss but more importantly three wins. we have along the way beaten two of the top three teams and I for one wish we could play sydney FC again.well done to the team and all associated with it you have shown us all that we can compete and that we can dream and make those dreams become a reality. Go Tassie !!!!!!!!

Final score was 3-2, with Tassie leading 2-1 at half time and at one point were 3-1 up. Gasprinatos got the first two and Downes got one ( sorry if i spelt their names wrong)

Goal festivale at Hindmarsh... 12 in one night between the two games (and one disallowed to Cristiano).
