DISCUSSIONS > IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?
admin Date posted Replies

Hello, I've just found this forum working. Don't know what to say really, just posting to see if it gets views or replies. I suppose it's got to start somewhere. It's a weird feeling sitting here and wondering how many people are out there and keen to see this club up and running. Fingers crossed there's a bucket load. Cheers.

Hi Taswegian! Yes, there are many of us here, interesting that the forum has nearly 20 registrations before the site has been formally announced anywhere! People might have seen me around promoting the bid on various forums, and also as creator of the "Tasmania in the A-League" facebook group. I'm just trying to spread the good word of TUFC wherever I can!

Great to see the site up and running! Hopefully the Tasmanian bid can be a successful one. I look forward to the day when Tasmania United play and dominate the A-league!

G'day Chuq, Top Corner. That's three of us! Hopefully all your facebook members join here Chuq. Do you know that even the FFT had a link to your page. They'll put you on the board if this team ever gets up and running! I don't expect really that this forum will be used much for now, but I seriously hope we can get those numbers up as members. Will look great for the bid. (PS. I am Taswegian from the MVFC site. Don't stop putting those articles on that site. I think there's a lot of people there who are keen to see it happen too. Keep up the good work.)

This site is not publicised yet, so things will be pretty quiet for a couple of weeks yet, hopefully it will kick up a gear or two after the launch.

taswegian you are not alone, there are kindred spirits, (maybe misguided or over optomistic)out here but we must take this opportunity to realise our collective dream and make our A Team a reality. "This train is bound for glory, get on board"......... United go bragh

I am seriously hoping for this effort to come to fruition! Regular A league action in the state would be fantastic! And it'll give our Junior players a taste of the top end, and something to aspire to!

We need to strike while the AFL bid idea has stalled somewhat. Let's hope that this is more than a pipe dream and we get to see regular top-level national sport here with our own team playing.

I am sports mad and a passionate Tasmanian - it is about time I was able to combine the two in a sport other than cricket (go the Tigers!). I am behind anything that helps talented Tasmanian athletes to be able to represent THEIR state - whether that be the A-League, AFL or just marbles! I would love to watch a Tassie team, with Tasmanian players, wearing Tasmanian colours in the grand final of a national competition. The sight of the boys in green holding up that cup and showing the rest of Australia that we ARE good enough to warrant representation would be a very proud day! It is great to see everyone on here get fully behind this oportunity and hopefully, one day, we can be standing side by side in a crowd at a Tasmania Utd game.

I am an Adelaide United Gold member supporter and I have register my support for your team to be admitted into the A-League. Craig Foster said it right, we can be the strongest football code across the entire country if we put teams in Tasmania, Canberra, Darwin, Geelong, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and my ultimate a team in WA's Peel Region. You have my full support and I look forward to watching the Tasmania Youth team play the Adelaide United youth team on Dec 5th

Hey guys

I live in Sydney's Northern Suburbs and am a massive Sydney FC supporter, I go to all their home games and away games in Newcastle and Gosford..

Just signed up to help support the A-League, Tasmania United and football in Australia in general.

Looking forward to seeing how the bid goes and hopefully one day I'll get to travel down to watch Tassie and Sydney play !

291 supporters now. But only 281 posts? = less than one per signed on "member". What the...? - Come on team - we need to encourage others (mostly our mates) to come on the forums and post. I think its pretty friendly, and unintimidating (at least compared to other blogs etc I have been involved with!) - so either we aren't doing our bit to spread the owrd; or perhaps we need to find some more threads that galvanise general interest? What about "Is it ok or not to let off flares at football games? And if so -what colours?" :D

Hi guys, One thing that I've noticed this forum lacks which most other forums have is email notification upon replies. I can post something and weeks later someone may reply, but on here I would never know about it. Maybe enabling this sort of function would assist in keeping readers returning to the site?
