When a Tasmanian team gets permission to enter the A-League ( let's be positive here !), I think it would be a good promotion/marketing exercise to have a state wide competion to give the fans a say in what the Tasmanian team playing kit will look like i.e. for both home and away fixtures. I'm not sure if something like this as being done before in the football world, but I'm sure it would generate a lot of positive publicity for the club. The forum has already thrown up some interesting ideas and designs for a proposed kit so let's take it a step further and involve the whole state. The prize for the winning design ? I've no idea ! Let's hear what you think ! Add comments |

Chuqposted at 12:25PM on 17th Dec, 2008 Sounds like TUFC agree that it is a great ideal tazztell! Admin - at the moment, clubs have to use a reebok "template" - any hint as to whether future kits will have any sort of format restriction on layout? Has the orange/green been decided by TUFC or are colours a free-for-all as well?adminposted at 1:38PM on 17th Dec, 2008 We have received no word regarding template constraints for the future. We imagine that more clubs coming into the A-League will make it harder to conform to a pre-defined template. Official club colours have not been decided at this point so all suggestions are welcome. Chuqposted at 11:40AM on 4th Feb, 2009 Looking forward to an update on this admin :)adminposted at 2:12AM on 28th Feb, 2009 We believe the existing FFA/Reebok kit contract is due to expire at the end of this season, or next. We have no update on whether any replacement agreements will be made or whether clubs will be allowed to go their own way. As soon as we hear, you will too. In the meantime, the taskforce is very keen to pursue a kit design competition, particularly in (but not limited to) the schools. Even if the winning designs can not be incorporated into a final club kit, the competition should still help to raise awareness of the bid and of course there will be prizes. Again, more info when we have it. Foxhawkposted at 11:27PM on 1st Mar, 2009 Just a quick question Admin. Is this something that is just a FFT/FFA arrangement or is the Tasmania United FC Taskforce involved as well? If the Taskforce is involved does that mean that the Youth Team will play under the name Tasmania United F Youth? And if so is it a 'proof of principle' project designed to showcase Tasmanian facilities prior to the lodging of our bid for the 2010/2011 season? Cheers Foxhawkposted at 11:40PM on 1st Mar, 2009 Whoops! This is meant to be in the Youth Team for 2009-10 thread. Can someone move it over. Cheers |

The club will be announcing a competition to design the home and away strips and expect this to be launched in time for the commencement of the new school year in February. Prizes and parameters have yet to be finalised but thank you for the suggestion and watch this space...
