| This was posted by 'TC_CVale' in another thread, but I thought it was a such a good idea I would repost here! "What about holding a Gala Weekend of football at Nth Hobart in Feb - March to generate more interest in this bid. Maybe be have a couple of exhibition matches, with the A league coming to an end at this time of year, you maybe able to get a Invitational 11 (players not in finals) to play against our U21's or against our senior team. Bring on board the migrant communities, who could run stalls with tradional food (mini Taste of Tasmania), as well approach the musicians from these groups to provide entertainment. We need the migrant community on board. Even have a Futsal comp for school kids. Send invitations to all the media groups and FFA, see if Fox Sports and SBS would be interested in sending down reporters etc. At the same time merchandise and memberships can be on sale. Lets make the people of Tasmania sit up and take notice of this bid, get them on board, show them we are UNITED and hopefully the local media will also get behind it." Ideas like this are great for further down the track however they take a lot of time and an awful lot of money to stage and co-ordinate. The taskforce's primary goal at this stage is to complete the feasibility study and move onto the next stage of the bid, when perhaps time and resources may be more permissive of such a gala.
Thank you for the suggestion and please do not hesitate to raise any future ideas.
