Hi everyone, Just getting this out there early…
Who'd like to meet up somewhere in Hobart for the A-League grand final on Saturday March 12?
By my reckoning we should be able to find a pub showing it - there doesn't seem to be any major conflict issues with other sports - AFL pre-season cup finishes the night before, Cricket World Cup is on but only 1 match that day and doesn't feature Australia. There are Super Rugby and NRL matches but that shouldn't affect Tassie sport goers.
Brisbane looks likely to be in the box seat to host, daylight savings time will mean start time will probably be around 6-7pm.
It would be a good way to gain a bit of momentum in the bid supporters group!

Chuqposted at 6:00AM on 1st Mar, 2011 Just an update … the Grand Final date/time has changed to Sunday March 13, at 4pm Qld time (5pm AEDT). Not sure if this will affect people's availability but the pubs should be less crowded!
I'm thinking of trying the Waggon again unless anyone has a better suggestion? Prince of Wales, or Vic Tav?
Also a couple of people are arranging a venue in Launceston - Irish Murphies seems to be the consensus!

I spend this morning trying to chase people up to confirm, we couldn't get in touch with Vic Tavern, but the final arrangement was Marquis in West Hobart, was told they had an excellent set up. Hope it's not too late to post here. Did get an email from Martyn Wells on Friday but have barely had time to confirm the venue let alone reply... sorry Martyn!! As far as I know, Irish Murphy's is still going ahead in Launceston!
