I believed that Tasmania United played really well and they stuck with Central Coast for around 75 min but the fitness showed. It may have been 3-0 but I really think they played great. Here is some highlights I found on YouTube. What do people think of the flare!!

mvfc4lifeposted at 5:36AM on 29th Jul, 2010 Yeah it would have been good if we had a good area to put up the flag, just like up in Launceston. I was disappointed to realise that we didn’t get any media coverage of the banner up in Launceston because I thought it looked great.
I believe that Tasmania played really well and for a team to match it for around 75 min against a top Australian team, we did a great job. Central Coast Mariners have a good team this year and they have had friendlies against Sydney and Melbourne with both games being a draw (2:2 and 0:0.) It was a great performance by our boys! Tristan_Eavesposted at 8:38PM on 2nd Nov, 2010 My uncle (Bobby Eaves) Played in this match. He was definitely one of the better players in the first half and I can't believe they took him off :O galacticaposted at 5:16AM on 3rd Nov, 2010 I was there and it was a good performance under pressure by all the players considering the fragmented selection training that was unfortunate. Not blaming anyone it was due to the hurried circumstances that occurred and the goodwill of CCM to agree to the game. CCM have now gone on to be very competitive in the AL so it shows what we can be capable of with the right resources and support. Go Tassie! Tristan_Eavesposted at 6:06AM on 3rd Nov, 2010 Yep definitely If we were in the A-League I doubt we would finish last all the time. We could definitely aim for upper mid-table with a bit of effort. galacticaposted at 9:32AM on 4th Nov, 2010 I believe we will get there one way or another. I don’t think Bellerive is the best option but it may be temporarily. However if the Indians invest in the OZ 20/20 then the TCA will not need another tenant because they will also have NMFC playing AFL there in the winter. This means that the State Govt and the HCC will need to develop a strategy for North Hobart to have A League during summer. Personally I am sure this is the better result and longer term has more potential with future ground rationalisation in the local OZ footy competition offering the potential of a redesigned rectangular stadium for soccer and rugby and the nearby bowls club moving to Cornelian Bay. Furthermore with the greater Hobart public transport revamps of light rail, trams, park and ride and outskirt multi storey car parking we could even host a World Cup match there. |

Good video! You can see the banners at about the 7.15 mark.. disappointing that the "Come Play in Tassie" banner had a FFT sign on the ground between it and the camera position :-(
The flare, we are extremely lucky that the media didn't pick up on it and make a story of it.. it could have majorly ruined the image of the sport in the state. Considering it happened after the match had finished the videographer did a disservice by even including it in the video. It's no secret that football has enemies in the media in Australia and they will use anything they can to demonise the sport.
