I believe the business case was due to be completed around about now (I think I heard early in 2010 that it would take about 6 months). Can Admin advise if the business case is close to being finalised and released?

We understand that the business case is progressing well and the club should be in a position to make an announcement within the next month or so. We appreciate the impatience felt by many supporters, but unfortunately until the business case is ready any official releases made by the club would be premature and speculative and not particularly productive to the bid, so this is the reason that information has been at a premium lately.

Rest assured the work is going on apace, but supporters will just have to wait a few weeks more until we all know exactly where the bid stands.

The Club truly appreciates your patience and understanding.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't mean to come across as impatient - I knew it was due to be ready about now and was just wondering if there was a firm date yet. Cheers.

Well I would think that given the look of the crowd numbers at KGV Grove Road tonight that a fair indication has been made about southern interest in A League. Considering it was a put together select XI against a team that has been in training for some time now I think we did reasonable until we ran out of puff in the last 15mins. Although we were lucky not to be swamped in the first 20mins. it was possible to see the confidence grow but more time together and more matches are the answer(probably elsewhere in Hobart). The crowd was good for a ground that would not pass muster at A League level in pretty much every facet of what it does not have. A few hundered more and that seems it would be the limit especially considering it is so basic.

Terrific to hear a good crowd turned up in Hobart, and look forward to hearing more about the business case in the next few weeks. Given the A-League season would have just started & with the World Cup still fresh in our memories, the timing would be great. Are we expecting any other states or franshises to put up bids for A-League inclusion at some stage soon?

So the business case will just say how we are going and if we are getting any closer to a team? I really believe that friendly matches like the one on Tuesday are great and I hope we can get more. The turn out was great!  ajax1995 I haven’t heard of any other A-League bids coming up ( besides the ones we already know about)

I just hope when TUFC are up and going they can play a pre-season friendly each year on the north west coast.

I'm not quite sure of what our chances are of getting a game on the North-West coast. Is there any grounds up  there?

A pre-season friendly could easily be hosted on either the Devonport Football Oval or Burnie Oval.

Realistically if the club want to be a true club representing Tasmania they should make the effort to have one north west coast friendly pre-season a year and accompany it with visiting schools and childrens warrs at the hospital and conducting some youth soccer sessions at local clubs and schools.

Given the population of the north coast it probably is only fair, and it will help to maintain the perspective that Tasmania United FC is a club for all Tasmania and not just Hobart/Launceston.

For all of you Hobart people who are aware of the north/south rivalry, there is a slightly smaller northcoast/north rivalry going as well.

So it would be good for TUFC to do a friendly in Devonport one year and then in Burnie the next. (In fact there is no reason why the TUFC national youth side cant play friendly matches pre-season at places like Kingston and Ulverstone to help promote interest.
