I think once the business model is completed it should be present to the FFA regardless of whether a spot is being offered for expansion. (My guess is that this is already the plan). I think if this occurs then the TUFC should do all that they can to obtain a signed merorandum of understanding with the FFA that should a club be placed in Tasmania then TUFC would automatically be the preferred licence holder. This would provide the club with some major advantages. It would be a major aide when looking for an investor who wants to use the club to promote their brand through Asia.Once we have investment we could then look at working with FFT and the TIS to develop a youth side managed by TUFC to put into the NYL. I think if the above all occurred then should two more expansion spots become available then TUFC would be guaranteed one with the other probably going to Canberra. (If the above all happened then the South Coast wouldn't get a spot at all). The senior members of the NYL side could also be used to promote the side through Tasmania visiting schools. Given the machinations with the World Cup bid and the other codes coming into agreement now I say that it is imperative that the action you mention be undertaken. We need to be ready to fulfill all obligations and get in and operating before AFL swamps the situation. I am not certain as to whether they can maintain the type of presence they wish to create but if they saturate Tassie and fall over then the TUFC will have a hard job convincing prospective followers - both spectators and sponsors to come on and stay on board. We need soccer up and running in the A League from Tassie before the World Cup gets to Australia. Two or four games a year from Richmond at Bellerive will not be a major concern but if an AFL state side happens before A League here then there goes a massive percentage of supporter base growth.
