Just a suggestion but how about something like Barracouta Stadium. The A League already has Bluetongue Stadium and here in Tassie the fighting couta fish is found right around our coast. I would like to see the name used each time we play at home in Hobart. What other ideas does anyone have including for Lonnie? Add comments |

galacticaposted at 8:25AM on 6th Apr, 2010 As you say and to start with it may well be corporately referred to as Aurora Stadium. However when our own corporate dealership is in vogue it could well be Pura Milk Shearwater Stadium or the like at York Park. At NHO and BO though no such existing deal is set as a naming right so I would envisage something say like Roo Stadium for BO and Couta Stadium for NHO with whoever the sponsor is to have their name in front of the ground name. There may well be co-sponsors for all three grounds depending upon the financial arrangements signed off upon. If unable to garner name changes then there is good cause for signage of a certain part of each ground as the ????? terrace, stand, hill in whatever the nick names become for the new TUFC team. galacticaposted at 9:59AM on 29th Apr, 2010 What a shame this product has been ceased production. I would think that it makes a very interesting name for Bellerive Oval. What do you think about calling it Polly Waffle Stadium? It seems appropriate in Tasmania with all the procrastination that simply must occur before before anything is developed. I do hope they include a number of dog piddling posts on the perimeter so they can come up from Bellerive Beach now and then and cock their leg. mvfc4lifeposted at 11:41PM on 7th May, 2010 Hey guys I have a plan 4 the next a-league pre season game between Melbourne and Adelaide. I believe if we can get enough people at the game my mates and I want to have a TIFO behind one of the goals, advertising Tasmania United. I believe this would bring the idea of a Tassie a-league team to the broader public and benefit us, it will be great fun to! So tell me what everyone thinks and I hope it can go ahead! I can't be certain, but I suspect that contractural obligations with respect to York Park may mean it has to be officially referred to as "Aurora Stadium". Doesn't mean we can't have an "unofficial" name, though...
