Thank you for reporting this to Media Watch, Chuq. I will make sure the taskforce are aware of this and hopefully some kind of formal representation can be made to the Mercury to protest at their ignorance on behalf of the A-League bid. I'm sure this will be an embarrassment to the powers that be.

Update: When I asked Walter about the removal - "were you threatened by the Merc?" he replied "you're very perceptive".

 

I sent this in to Media Watch last week, they replied this morning noting the blog post had gone and asking for further details. I was able to provide a google cache link.

Hopefully heads will roll.
