Good to see TUFC moving out of the square with a movie presentation. I'm not Tassie based, was in UK resently and saw the film, it's a bloody ripper ! Sensitive people might wonder why a film based on a former Man U player could be any good ! but this one sure is. I assume this is a fund riser (admin ?) so please get a ticket quick. Even if you don't agree with my opinion on the film, go see it and we can have a debate about it here (and the money you spend will help the club). Keep up the good work TUFC. Add comments |

Foxhawkposted at 1:56AM on 3rd Sep, 2009 Hello Admin. To what degree are the government (local and state) and FFT getting involved in this event. In my opinion we should have attendees from both major parties as well as representatives from both the Launceston and all three Hobart councils. I think southern clubs should all be sending representatives as well. adminposted at 9:07AM on 3rd Sep, 2009 Foxhawk thanks for your input.' The Premier at the premiere' evening is basically TUFC saying thanks to the people and business organisations that have supported us so far. Also an opportunity for all those people who have offered to help financially but don't have a spare 10 grand ! $25 gets you a ticket to a great movie, at least according to Tassihatter, and any your money goes towards the general day to day expenses of the club. So please we'd like to see and catch up with lots of you on that evening. Yes if the FFT and any club presidents, North, South, East or West care to buy tickets they will be most welcome to do so. In conclusion a friendly social evening is on offer, a chance to meet the TUFC team, enjoy the hospitality of the State Cinema, watch an award winning movie, and contribute to the coffers ! Tickets are limited so ' first in best dressed' is the way to go. TUFC look forward to putting faces to names, we hope to meet lots of you and your paying guests !
galacticaposted at 10:57AM on 3rd Sep, 2009 Firstly to all concerned please do not take this comment as negativity. I simply stating the position I put earlier on this site. I support the concept of the club in the A League and I will support the club when (hopefully) it arrives. I will be coming through the gates and purchasing merchandise and I will prefer to watch matches in my own locality but I will attend some games elsewhere including interstate. But I believe that the club has to stand on its own with its corporate ideals and if it cannot do so with a complete business case then I cannot afford to speculate finance in this manner, no matter how minute some may see this requirement. I admire those who wish to give tacit support to the admin of TUFC however I am a bread and jam supporter and so are those friends of mine who sit on the sideline now waiting for a decision from FFA on the Tassie case. We will be regularly coming through the gate but we wont always be able to put money on the plate. Thank you for the offer to attend the "Finding Eric" (another great player with the usual chinks in his character a la George Best, etc) movie and I hope it is successful as a benefit and profile raiser for the cause. I will put money up when I can see OUR BOYS LIVE. |

Yes it is a fund raiser, aimed at helping to provide the taskforce with a bit of cash to pay for some of the important things that keep the bid running. But it is also hoped to give supporters the opportunity to meet with taskforce members and improve relations, while enjoying a very good football movie at the same time.
